Our port broker has advised that a vacis (x-ray) exam has been ordered by US Customer for this container. I will let you know when the container gets released and transported to our deconsolidating warehouse." Which, in plain English, means that I will have to pay up $500.00 for the US Customs' random examination, "reason being to ensure the safety of USA".

| Гость | So... are you taking all your stuff to Dallas? Scary! I wouldn't dare to pack all my old mammas in a container. Tell us about the festival.

Yes, I was pretty scared when I set out on this journey but there was no choice in my case: I had finished my 2.5 year work assignment in Moscow and had to move myself, my family and my collection (~50 instruments) back to Texas. My job paid for the shipment (5.5 m3, 3 months by sea was within the sum I was allocated for relocation). I was told by the shipping company right away that US customs can be a hassle since they can order a random x-ray inspection and I will have to pay for it if I want my shipment released. And that is exactly what happened. My collection is only 30 miles away and yet so far away... I am being told that I should get it soon, though:)

| Here are some images taken on the pack-out day in Moscow (it was a very strange feeling, seeing the collection go):

| Yes! My shipment is scheduled for delivery on March 3, and the customs fee is... $10. Can't wait!
